Why Croatia
Croatia isn't a compromise destination. It's a deliberate one.
The coastline, the light, the old stone towns, the food, the pace of things — couples who choose to get married here almost always say it felt more like them than anywhere else they'd considered. Less formal than Tuscany, less crowded than Santorini, and with a quality of light in the evenings that's genuinely hard to find elsewhere.
I've photographed destination weddings here for couples from the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, the US and beyond. The thing they all have in common is that they wanted something real — a celebration that actually felt like theirs, in a place that earns the photographs rather than just providing a backdrop.
The Locations
Istria
Hilltop villages, olive groves, the quieter Adriatic coast. Istria suits couples who want something intimate and a little off the beaten path. Rovinj, Pula, and the inland villages around Motovun are where I'd point you first.
Dalmatia
The coast between Split and Dubrovnik, the islands, the old stone towns. Dalmatia is where most destination couples end up wanting to be, and it earns it. Hidden coves, long golden evenings, venues that feel genuinely Croatian rather than purpose-built for weddings.
Dubrovnik
Extraordinary and iconic. Requires more planning and lead time than anywhere else, but the results speak for themselves. Best in May and October when the crowds thin.
The stretch of coast closest to where I'm based – Opatija, Rijeka, the islands of Krk, Cres and Lošinj. Less visited than Dalmatia, more personal in character, and genuinely beautiful.
What I Offer
I shoot photography. My partner handles video. We edit both, together.
For couples planning from abroad, having one team cover photo and video means one point of contact, one aesthetic, and no coordination between separate crews on the day. Most of my destination couples plan everything remotely — a video call, some emails, and then we meet in-person on the morning of the wedding.
